Hello and welcome to another edition of Best 5 Reads. Tough luck for England team, but they played really well. Congratulations to Croatia for reaching first ever finals in World Cup. Lets see if they can beat France. Its gonna be an exciting match. With that said, lets check out our Best 5 Reads for today.
1) How to Have a Better Conversation About Mental Illness
The conversation about mental health has become so focused on mild to moderate illness and stigma reduction that it does a disservice to people living with mental illness at the more debilitating end of the spectrum, fueling misunderstanding of the nature and risks of these illnesses and under-resourcing of treatment.
Furthermore, the narrative that “mental illness does not discriminate” and “mental illness can happen to anybody,” which has been important in tackling stigma, has had the unintended consequence of disguising the political and economic dimensions of the way that mental suffering, and the treatment of suffering, is unfairly distributed.
They are not the great all-purpose painkillers they’ve been cracked up to be.
3) Non-Adherence to Healthy Lifestyle Indicators Increases Risk for Depression
Investigators examined the link between healthy lifestyle with the risk for incident depressive symptoms.
4) Cognitive Psychoeducational Group Therapy Lowers Relapse Rate in Depression
Participants in the psychoeducational cognitive behavioural therapy group had significantly lower rehospitalization rates than those in the extended clinical management group.
These data highlight the necessity of more targeted interventions for patients with a history of high-risk behavior, such as self-harm or suicide ideation.
Thank you for your time and see you tomorrow for another edition of Best 5 Reads!

Mental Illness is a very sensitive subject and need to be addressed with utmost care, understanding and consideration to those going through such issues. There are so many, who are ignorant of this factor. The society, the general public need to be educated and enlightened very much on this subject, by the professionals and responsible citizens in the world!
